Rev. Starlene Joyner Burns is the founder of Free Healing USA and an ordained Spiritual Science minister, distant energy healer, and clairsentient based in Washington, D.C. Her ministry is rooted in sacred service—offering healing to those who are ready to heal, recover, and transform.

A Divine Call to Heal
Before her wedding, Rev. Burns faced a serious illness that doctors could not explain. What followed was a healing miracle—one that became the turning point in her spiritual journey.
She was later called into healing through a dream. That dream didn’t provide a map, but it opened the way and left a message:
“Take no money for what you do.”
She began studying, training, and practicing at a local metaphysical church nearby, where her formal transformation began to take shape.
As her path shifted, she trained in a distant healing modality that allowed her to work freely. That sacred work became the foundation for her first healing ministry: The God Center for Divine Healing.
But even after launching that work, God was still shaping her. A divine spiritual intervention took place—one that called her into deeper accountability. Shortly after, she received another dream. This time, she heard the words:
“Now it’s time for you to learn.”
Not long after, she was invited to a small meeting of like-minded ministers.
What she expected to be a simple gathering was held in a metaphysical school.
That school was the National Spiritual Science Center in Washington, D.C., where she enrolled and was ordained in 2004 after completing a rigorous, multi-year program in spiritual theory, healing, and ministerial development.
Her healing ability may have come from God.
But to carry that gift with integrity, she had to transform on all levels and hold that responsibility at a level of divine wisdom.
Training, Discernment, and Sacred Standards
Though trained in Reiki and other energy systems, Rev. Burns chose to ground her healing ministry in Spiritual Science—a system rooted in spiritual laws, energetic anatomy, personal responsibility, and integrity. As a spiritual healer in the DC area, her distant healing work is guided by divine power and sacred wisdom.
She understands that when people are in pain, they can become desperate—for themselves or for someone they love. What feels urgent is real, and every feeling matters.
But healing unfolds in its own divine timing.
No one can predict when that is—not even the healer.
Healing begins when the soul is ready to receive.
She also acknowledges that spiritual truths are not exclusive to one tradition.
Throughout history, divine insight has been revealed across many cultures and paths. Her ministry honors those universal truths while remaining rooted in the sacred structure and standards of Spiritual Science.
Anchored in Lineage and Legacy
Rev. Burns also founded the National Spiritual Science Center Historical Society, created to preserve the teachings and ministerial legacy that once helped shape her spiritual foundation. Through this effort, she honors the past while walking her own spiritual path forward as a minister of healing.
Her work remains deeply personal, spiritually guided, and grounded in sacred principles.
